Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Driver (Independent Contractor) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials efficiently and safely. As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule while ensuring timely deliveries and excellent customer service.
Duties
- Operate a box truck or van to transport goods to various locations.
- Load and unload items using a pallet jack or forklift as necessary.
- Ensure all deliveries are made on time and in good condition.
- Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates on delivery status and address any inquiries.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including any necessary documentation.
- Perform routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Assist with heavy lifting and moving of items as required during transportation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to operate a box truck or van safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills to interact positively with clients.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting as needed during loading and unloading processes.
- Experience using pallet jacks or forklifts is advantageous but not required.
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
