What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipe Layer position at E Contracting Group?
Experience (preferred or required) :
High School Diploma required
Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards
1-3 years of experience as a Pipe Layer in a construction company or similar organization
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up equipment
Follow project instructions from construction manager or supervisor
Direct traffic safely around the construction or road maintenance site
Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks
Follow all health and safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management
Assist in checking grade with levels and ruler
Safely operate a variety of tools including pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, pipe saws, grinders, jumping jack, plate compactor
Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment
Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, installing E&S controls, exposing existing utilities
Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials
Safely Operate Street sweepers, broom tractors and rollers
Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
Flagger Certification
Check grade for grading operations, and utility work
Lays, joins, aligns, wraps, and seals pipe sections, clay, concrete, and other type of pipe for water / gas main, sanitary sewer, telephone / electrical conduits
Ability to work with crew members and operate a variety of hand and power tools including drills, hammers, and other tools as directed by management
Ability to perform tasks including physical labor as instructed by supervisor
Maintains equipment or production records, as directed
Help drive safety initiatives from safety team
Respond to phone calls in a timely fashion
Willing to learn the industry and help us maintain and grow our marketplace position
Attend business meetings and trainings as required
Follow and adhere to Company policies, procedures, and guidelines
Perform other administrative duties, tasks and special projects as assigned
