E&E Foods is launching a search to hire 8 salmon roe technicians for the 2025 Bristol Bay Salmon Season; the position is full time and temporary starting from April 15, 2025 to September 5, 2025 at Pacific Star and Coffee Point plants located in Kenai and Egegik, respectively.
The successful candidate will:
Be responsible for the processing and packaging of Ikura and Sujiko salmon roe products for export to the Japanese market. Specifically, the duties include sorting, agitating or soaking into brine solution or soy seasoning, grading according to quality and appearance, dewatering, and packing for attractive presentation. Additional responsibilities include controlling usage of food additives based on the conditions of roe, testing of final product of Ikura and Sujiko for nitrite content, and maintaining sanitation conditions of roe acceptable to Japanese regulations.
Requirements
The position requires 24 months experience as salmon roe processor, including knowledge of the Japanese market condition for salmon roe products.
Hours of Work:
Full time (minimum 35 hours /week) Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with up to 40 hours of overtime, depending upon the size of the fish run which is nearly impossible to predict. While we can't guarantee any definite number of overtime hours, a work week can be up to seven days. You must be ready to work under flexible hours and able to work all hours assigned. Meal periods and breaks must be taken as scheduled.
EE Foods guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays
in each 6-week period of the total employment period.
Transportation:
Round trip airfare from worker’s home residence to worksites and in-between worksites, including daily transportation is provided at no cost to the employees. The employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence contingent upon completion of the contract and/or if workers complete 50 percent of the work contract period. Return transportation/daily subsistence is provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed for any reason before the employment period. Daily subsistence expenses provided between $16.28 to $68.00.
Living Conditions:
Room and board provided, which is optional, at no cost to the employees during the period of employment.
SALARY & BENEFITS:
The wage is $29.85 per hour straight time and $44.78 per hour overtime.
