What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Electrician position at E & E Foods?
Remote salmon processing facility in Bristol Bay Alaska looking for an experienced and motivated electrician / powerhouse operator for 2025 Bristol Bay Salmon Season. Coffee Point Seafoods operates a salmon plant on the north beach of the Egegik River, where we produce frozen headed and gutted sockeye salmon. We employ a crew of approximately 300 during the salmon season.
This individual will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing electrical equipment; as well as operation and maintenance of plant powerhouse.
The successful candidate will :
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, motors, and control panels.
- Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Installs, services, and repairs lighting fixtures, electrical panels, outlets, and wiring.
- Install, test, and commission electrical equipment, machinery, and control systems.
- Collaborate with othemaintenance team members and contractors to ensure successful installations.
- Upgrade and modify existing electrical systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and compliance with safety standards.
- Stay informed about advancements in electrical technology and recommend upgrades accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, codes, and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Respond promptly to emergency electrical issues and breakdowns, diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions.
- Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts for emergency repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment history.
- Generate reports detailing electrical system status and recommended improvements.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members, engineers, and production staff to address electrical issues and optimize equipment performance.
- Provide technical guidance and support as needed.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior electricians or maintenance team members.
- Share knowledge on electrical systems, best practices, and safety protocols
Requirements
The work environment is weather dependent : ranging from warm and sunny to cold, windy and wet. Working outdoors in varying weather is a given in this position.
Living Conditions :
Room & board provided. The housing is dormitory style and both meals and housing are provided at no charge if you complete your work agreement.
