JOB SUMMARY
The Retail Associate plays a pivotal role in customer service and daily store functions, engaging in various responsibilities such as product sales, payment handling, returns processing, addressing inquiries, and maintaining shelf inventory. Acting as the frontline representative of the company, they deliver outstanding customer experiences through swift, effective, and polite assistance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers with a positive attitude and assist customers with locating correct product.
- Drive sales by engaging with the customers, sharing product knowledge, and recommending products.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
- Ensure merchandise is stocked and organized in accordance with company procedures.
- Complete the general housekeeping of the store, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal.
- Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & RELATED EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Exceptional customer service skills to provide a superior guest experience.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- General understanding of retail operations, including merchandising and inventory management.
- Communicate product knowledge to guests and make personalized recommendations.
- Merchandising skills to effectively display products in an attractive and organized manner.
- Able to perform basic calculations.
- Exceptional telephone etiquette skills, able to effectively communicate and handle calls with professionalism.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
- The ability to follow instructions and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and tasks as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. However, the role will be expected to interact daily with coworkers and customers.
