Title: MEP Project Manager
Level: 2 to 3 years of Project Management experience / 5 to 7 years of Construction experience
Location: Tri-State area with possible travel to Washington DC or Florida
A Project Manager role is available in the New York City/New Jersey area, requiring prior MEP Project Management experience and familiarity with both Union and Non-Union projects. This position will support a growing list of high-profile clients and reports to a Senior Managing Principal.
The role focuses on MEP and critical infrastructure projects, including Data Centers, Base Building Electrical & Mechanical Upgrades, Electrical Utility Services, Solar Projects, Broadcast Studios, and Interior Alterations. Projects span multiple states, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Washington DC, Florida, and California, with some out-of-state travel required.
The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of contact with client representatives, ensuring the highest levels of project execution and communication.
Role Responsibilities:
As an MEP Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and improving project management processes, managing multiple projects, and ensuring effective execution and communication. Key responsibilities include:
Project Oversight:
- Manage 4-5 projects of varying sizes and scopes. Review and understand project drawings, specifications, and safety policies.
Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with Estimators during internal project kickoff meetings.
- Assist Project Superintendents with submittal lists, project schedules, RFI logs, permits, safety documents, and logistics plans.
- Review specifications and submittals for pre-purchased equipment.
Meetings and Documentation:
- Lead weekly client meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes.
- Establish and manage weekly subcontractor project meetings.
Safety and Compliance:
- Conduct internal safety audits, ensure OSHA signage is posted, and oversee site-specific safety measures.
Labor Management:
- Coordinate daily schedules with Superintendents and oversee labor hours for payroll.
Pre-Construction Activities:
- Collaborate with design teams to define scope, schedules, and logistics. Provide General Requirements and Conditions information for estimating project costs.
Subcontractor Management:
- Expand subcontractor bid lists, manage change orders, and address subcontractor scope disputes.
Critical Shutdowns:
- Develop Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for critical project tasks, including timelines and task details.
Financial Oversight:
- Liaise with accounting to track costs, manage accounts receivable/payable, and ensure projects stay on budget.
Closeouts:
- Oversee project closeouts, including punch list completion and inspections.
Requirements
Minimum Required Education: Bachelors degree in Estimating, Engineering or Construction Management.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of Construction experience
- 2-3 years of MEP Project Manager experience
- Proficient in Procore
- Working knowledge of MS Project and MS Project Suite
- Experience working on cross functional teams within different offices
Salary : $110,000 - $135,000
