The Electro-Optical Technician will optimize the performance of electrophoretic displays through manual and computer-assisted manufacturing processes. Job responsibilities include inspecting results, calibrating instruments, generating test reports, verifying performance through final electro-optical testing and documenting the work performed. Additional duties may include setting up experiments with electro-optical test equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Customize waveforms for use in final customer devices
- Set up optical apparatus for use in development
- Calibrate development apparatus
- Perform optimizations using software-guided processes
- Evaluate reports and verify images
- Perform basic inventory functions
- Perform advanced troubleshooting with hardware and software
- Perform calibration of apparatus
- Understand and reference standard operating procedures
Qualifications:
- Work habits that are precise, organized and have high attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document the work performed
- Very computer literate and familiar with word processing and spreadsheet software
- Team player who is achievement-oriented and has high energy
- Ability to work under limited supervision and to work occasionally alongside an engineer or scientist
Preferences:
- Experience in a development environment
- Experience with optical and electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters and photodiodes
- Experience with computer programming
