The Electro-Optical Technician will optimize the performance of electrophoretic displays through manual and computer-assisted manufacturing processes. Job responsibilities include inspecting results, calibrating instruments, generating test reports, verifying performance through final electro-optical testing and documenting the work performed. Additional duties may include setting up experiments with electro-optical test equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Customize waveforms for use in final customer devices
  • Set up optical apparatus for use in development
  • Calibrate development apparatus
  • Perform optimizations using software-guided processes
  • Evaluate reports and verify images
  • Perform basic inventory functions
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting with hardware and software
  • Perform calibration of apparatus
  • Understand and reference standard operating procedures

Qualifications:

  • Work habits that are precise, organized and have high attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document the work performed
  • Very computer literate and familiar with word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Team player who is achievement-oriented and has high energy
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and to work occasionally alongside an engineer or scientist

Preferences:

  • Experience in a development environment
  • Experience with optical and electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters and photodiodes
  • Experience with computer programming
