And we’re looking for an Electro-Optical Lab Co-op!
This position is part of the Analytical Technology organization, responsible for the measurement of new ink films to be used in the next generation electronic paper display platforms. The co-op will help with the development of new lab equipment with a focus on measurement automation and test methods. Projects cover a variety of tasks from designing and 3D printing simple jigs and instrument parts to writing code and creating new test procedures. Experience with using Arduino or Python for reading sensors and automating movement is preferred. The co-op will work with scientists and engineers to determine the best new experiment protocol, design, and build instrumentation as required, write software and initiate tests, and write new standard operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- A GPA or 3.0 or higher
- Familiarity with CAD. Solidworks preferred for part design, Altuim preferred for printed circuit board design
- Programming experience. Familiarity with LabVIEW, Arduino, C or Python preferred
- Ability to do data analysis with Excel
- A motivated self-starter with good communication skills who works well independently and in teams
- Good organization skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage own schedule
Preferences:
- Familiarity with FDM 3D printing
- Familiarity with basic printed circuit board design
- Flexibility with regard to schedule
