And we’re looking for a Coating Reasearch Technician!
About the Position:
This technician position will operate in a cleanroom environment and in a Pilot Plant setting, where you will be a part of a multi-functional team that operates roll-to-roll coating lines to produce experimental film samples. As a Coating Technician, you are responsible for executing SOPs associated with coating fluids, operating a coating machine, and evaluating coated films being produced. In addition, there will be various other film converting and chemical handling tasks on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:
- Operate slot-die coaters and chemical processing equipment per SOP
- Document coating runs on run sheet
- Monitor quality of coated films for defects or abnormalities
- Execute special start-up and shutdown protocols
- Keep coaters and processing equipment clean and in working order
- Follow safety and cleanroom requirements and always wear proper PPE
Qualifications:
- Experience handling chemicals and working in a chemical lab environment (solvents, inks, coating fluids)
- Ability to transfer up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work in an active process environment
- Flexibility in supporting tasks such as film-roll handling, splicing and rewinding films, film inspection, equipment/facility upgrades, and process development
- Strong attention to detail
Benefits:
The anticipated base salary for this position is $65k-$85k annually for candidates located in the San Francisco Bay Area.
