What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator position at E&K Companies, Inc.?
We are hiring a Project Estimator based in the Elmhurst, IL (Chicago office). This position will be responsible for project cost analysis, coordination with field operations, customer development, and relationship building.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Recommend short-term objectives and long-range sales/marketing goals including pricing and job selection policies.
- Bidding, selling, and marketing E&K’s services and products, including monitoring market and technical trades.
- Participate and be accountable for development and implementation of marketing plans.
- Manage and coordinate current projects by documenting and interacting with other departments and clients for proper progress of jobs.
- Process contracts and change orders in a timely manner.
- Assist in determining amount of monthly progress billings.
- Ensure that the proper information is provided to other departments.
- Review, understand, and monitor contract language and note concerns for the Manager’s review.
- Establish qualified subcontractor bids and scope in determining contracts.
- Conform to all company policies and procedures.
- Attend and participate in all required company training programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience with commercial construction experience in estimating
- Metal framing and drywall construction experience is strongly preferred
- Solid experience with OST and QuickBid is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, schedules, and specifications
- Knowledge of construction budgets, scheduling, and estimating
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to multi-task & prioritize
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
