Utility Laborer/Pipelayer Job Summary
The Utility Laborer works with Foreman, Operators, and other team members to lay out and install multiple types of piping, backfilling trenches, staging of materials, fueling equipment, obtaining, and delivering materials and equipment to the site and general daily clean-up activities while adhering to established processes for the performance of day-to day project activities using safe work practices. Eligible candidates will actively work with crew to meet company core values.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Gathers tools, equipment, and materials needed to perform job tasks.
- Provides support to project foreman, fellow labors and any other personnel assigned to the site.
- Guides dump trucks to dumping sites and spots the driver around over head utilities.
- Locates underground utilities using hand tools and vacuum excavation equipment.
- Performs traffic control operations
- Assists in set up of work zone patterns to PennDot publication 213 specifications as provided by the site foreman.
- Performs general housekeeping duties including clean up and organization of job site, tools, trucks, trailers, and equipment.
- Assists in the assemble and installation of trench protection
- Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:
- Work environment conditions consist of working in all weather conditions and where the conditions could be wet, dirty, or dusty.
- Ability to climb in and out of excavations
- The ability to frequently lift 20 to 100lbs
- Ability to work extended hours during construction season (OT is paid at time and a half)
- Ability to occasionally travel and to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
License/Certification Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Pre-employment Drug Screen Required
- DOT physical
- Drivers' License & Acceptable Driving Record
