Sacramento County is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to support data-driven decision-making across various county departments. This role will be responsible for gathering data requirements, designing interactive reports and dashboards, and ensuring data accuracy and accessibility for key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience with Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS, proficiency in SQL and data transformation techniques, and a strong understanding of database management and data warehousing concepts. Experience in Health Services, Social Services, or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business users to identify reporting needs, gather data requirements, and define key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Utilize data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to prepare data from multiple sources for reporting.
- Design and develop user-friendly reports and interactive dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
- Deploy reports and dashboards to designated platforms and manage access controls.
- Maintain and optimize reports and dashboards for performance and accuracy.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency through data cleaning, normalization, and aggregation techniques.
- Work with IT teams to integrate reporting solutions with database management systems and data warehouses.
- Establish and execute software test plans to validate reporting outputs.
- Provide training and documentation to end-users to support data literacy and adoption of reporting tools.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
- Strong ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with business users, technical teams, and management.
- Experience in Health Services and Social Services is a plus.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in SQL, including data cleaning, normalization, and aggregation techniques.
