Join our team as a Computer Support Specialist at Fort Bliss, TX, where you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality technical support and client services for Department of Defense (DoD) operations. Reporting to the IT Manager, you will troubleshoot software and hardware issues, manage help desk inquiries, and maintain critical systems like SharePoint and Air Force Teams. Your expertise in Windows operating systems and CompTIA certifications (A , Network , and Security ) will be essential in resolving technical problems efficiently while ensuring a seamless technology experience for all users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on support for Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPR) infrastructure and associated DoD-approved peripheral devices.
- Troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues while ensuring compliance with security policies.
- Apply patches, updates, and configurations to maintain system integrity and security.
- Administer and manage SharePoint, Air Force Teams, and other DoD-approved collaborative environments.
- Support system upgrades, security updates, and configuration changes based on Defense Information System Agency (DISA) guidelines.
- Stay up to date with emerging Army and Air Force technologies, standards, and infrastructure changes.
- Provide help desk support and assist end-users with IT-related issues.
- Conduct initial training for personnel on DoD-approved systems and peripheral devices.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while supporting AFSFC Detachment 3 personnel.
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems (Windows 10 and latest Air Force-approved Standard Desktop Configurations).
- Familiarity with Internet Protocol Version 6.0 (IPv6), Global Information Grid (GIG), IAO Express, and AFNET Client Service Technician responsibilities.
- Experience in help desk support and IT troubleshooting (minimum 1 year preferred).
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies and protocols (e.g., AFMAN 33-285, Cybersecurity Workforce Improvement Program).
