Job Summary

EM Construction-Remodeling is seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team in the construction sector.

We are a small but grown construction company looking to bring a new estimator in the team to grow with us.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and estimating, with expertise in utilizing software tools such as Plan hub, Construct connect and building connected. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate cost assessments and effective project management from inception to completion. The Estimating Manager will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to build comprehensive estimates that align with project goals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Utilize software for efficient takeoffs and bid preparation.
• Conduct thorough analysis of project specifications, drawings, and contracts to determine accurate pricing.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets and cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage the estimating team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality outputs.
• Review and approve estimates before submission to clients or stakeholders.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials costs, and construction methodologies.
• Foster relationships with General contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and reliable service.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field, with a strong understanding of construction management principles.
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Plan hub, building connected is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of cost control practices and contract management within the construction industry.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate pricing assessments.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating leadership capabilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear interaction with team members and clients.
• Familiarity with construction site operations is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $74,095.00 - $81,483.00 per year
