About the Role
This role assists in designing, developing, and implementing technical products and systems. Responsibilities include preparing creative designs or related drawings or details; using designs to develop specifications or estimates of materials needed for a project. May perform drafting duties requiring the use of CAD equipment or systems.
- Designs and develops moderate complexity products and/or components.
- Creates and reviews material part specifications and bills of materials.
- Uses CAD or CAE software to develop structural designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
- Verifies designs through calculations and analytical techniques.
Fulfills customer requirements considering design rules and interface points. Defines test requirements and interprets test results to validate designs. Identifies problems, root causes, and defines resolutions.
Requirements
Knowledge of manufacturing industry and vocational standards. Experience with CAD and CAE software, problem-solving techniques, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong work ethic, highly motivated, organized, and self-disciplined. Versatile, flexible, and willing to work with changing priorities.
Solid PC skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and layout and other written or verbal instructions.
Education and Experience
Associate's Degree of Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent education required. Typically requires 2-4 years of related experience.
