Snell is also one of Georgia’s largest Bridge Builders and Asphalt Paving contractors.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Sr. Safety Manager at E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. This position consists of daily job inspections on a variety of locations including Bridge, culvert, general construction, asphalt laydown, shops and plant facilities. This job will require working mainly in the field on job sites.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to promote positive safety culture to multidisciplinary workforce.
  • Knowledge and application of health and safety standards; Aid in company compliance with all local, state and federal regulations such as OSHA, DOT, MSHA and the EPA.
  • Conduct formal investigations on all work-related incidents. Develop root cause analysis of accident causes and how to prevent reoccurrence
  • Assist HR Manager on worker’s compensation claims
  • Accomplish safety compliance by coordinating, administering and implementing comprehensive training programs in construction, general industry and environmental safety.
  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace
  • Monitor compliance to company policies and safety standards by inspecting employees, operations, equipment and machinery for possible unsafe conditions
  • Excellent motivational skills to help employees maintain high levels of participation and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Outstanding organization and attention to detail
  • Work closely with Project Owners, PM’s, Superintendents, and sub-contractors to ensure implementation of safety policies
  • Develop and provide technical and administrative direction on all safety and health programs.
  • Educate and train employees on health and safety standards. Including new hire orientation and safety training.
  • Order non-standard or specialized safety equipment needed on the project.
  • Other safety-related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Bilingual – Fluency in Spanish is a plus
  • OSHA 510 – OSHA Construction Standards / OSHA 511 – OSHA General Industry
  • OSHA 500 –Trainer- Construction / OSHA 501 –Trainer- General Industry
  • STS-C (Safety Trained Supervisor -Construction)
  • STS (Safety Trained Supervisor)
  • CHST- Construction Health and Safety Technician
  • OSHT - Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician
  • Safety Management Training / Advanced Safety Management Training
