We are seeking a Lead Controls Engineer who will be part of a growing business to support the design, deployment, testing, and maintenance of data center control system projects.
Must be located in or around the Richmond, Ashburn, D.C. area, or be willing to relocate.
You Will:
- Serve as a team member supporting the execution of project work from design through implementation
- Perform a variety of complicated tasks. A certain degree of creativity, communication with team, and latitude is required.
- Perform quality checks and bench testing of PLC, HMI, & SCADA programs
- Work with installation company to monitor progress, QA/QC installation, test procedures, document, and communicate with team progress observations.
- Adapt to a flexible work schedule & travel, if necessary, to participate in the design, development, and start-up of control systems at the client's facility
You Have:
- Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience in the controls system industry
- Ignition HMI or AVEVA Wonderware/System Platform OMI is preferred
- Able to work independently on projects and tasks with a very organized and methodical approach.
- Basic understanding of control system network topologies
- PLC experience – capable of connecting to PLCs and troubleshooting programming logic.
- Schneider and/or Rockwell experience a plus
- SCADA experience – capable of navigating and modifying HMI applications.
- AVEVA CSI highly preferred experience
- Instrumentation calibration / startup experience
- Willingness to travel 50%
- A DNA comprised of collaboration and teamwork
You May Have:
- Experience with PLC or DDC controlled data center projects.
- Experience with FactoryTalk View SE, OPC UA/DA, and A/B Rockwell or Schneider PLC's
- Experience Building Management & HVAC Control Systems
- Ignition Gold Certified
- AVEVA System Platform OMI 2017 and above
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, lift a minimum of 50lbs and walk up and down stairs and or fixed ladders numerous times.

Salary : $85,400 - $110,400
