POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Foreman, the Common Laborer performs entry-level tasks to support the crew's skilled workers. Common Laborers may operate basic equipment such as hand and power tools, air hammers, or earth tampers. Responsibilities include cleaning and preparing job sites, digging trenches, and performing other labor-related tasks as needed to ensure efficient operations. This role does not require prior specialization and offers an opportunity to develop foundational construction skills.

YOUR ROLE
• Assist with general labor tasks, including digging, spreading, and leveling concrete, dirt, and gravel using hand tools.
• Lift, carry, and hold materials, tools, and supplies for the crew.
• Signal machinery operators to assist with alignment and placement.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials, and work areas to maintain a safe environment.
• Perform basic non-machine tasks, such as removing forms from set concrete.
• Spread base material for subgrade preparation or concrete pouring.
• Support pouring and finishing of concrete under supervision.
• Tie steel/rebar and position pipe sections as directed.
• Control traffic passing near work zones when needed.
• Assist with construction and demolition tasks on the job site.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on the job site.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING
• 0-1 years of experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Physical strength and stamina to handle demanding tasks.
• Accuracy and thoroughness in completing assigned work.
• Good eye-hand coordination, balance, and depth perception.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work in diverse locations with varying schedules, including overtime and weekends.
• Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate effectively.
• Consistent and reliable attendance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Common Laborer frequently stands, walks, kneels, crouches, climbs ladders, and performs physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds. This role requires close vision, color vision, and the ability to navigate uneven terrain. Work occurs primarily on active construction sites with exposure to extreme temperatures, loud noises, and moving equipment. Adherence to safety protocols is essential.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to travel within the State of Texas as needed, overnight or out of town stay may be required.

PRE-SCREEN
Upon offer, employees will be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
