About us
e184 is an Advanced Research Funding Organization (ARFO) that supports frontier science and technology. We’re founded and backed by Kirill Eves, the founder of Unlimit.com, a global online payment system.
Our operating model lies at the intersection of deep-tech VC investment funds and Focused Research Organizations (FROs). Since our foundation, we’ve backed stellar Paterna Bioscience, supported a neurotech initiative at the London Imperial College Neurotech Society, and developed collaborations with numerous scientific organizations worldwide.
Role Overview:
As the Head of Communications, you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive science communications strategy in the US and worldwide. You’ll serve as the primary voice for our scientific narrative, collaborating closely with research teams, executives, and external media to enhance our brand and thought leadership within the biotech and innovation sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development:
- Create and implement a robust science communications plan that aligns with our company’s mission and strategic goals.
Content Creation & Management:
- translate complex scientific concepts into engaging content
- produce high-quality, scientifically accurate content—including press releases, blog posts, social media updates, whitepapers, and multimedia presentations—that effectively tells our story, and communicates our research breakthroughs and innovation.
- build brand awareness through content
Media & Stakeholder Relations:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media outlets, industry influencers, academic institutions, and thought leaders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with R&D and executive teams to ensure consistent messaging and to support strategic initiatives.
Performance Analysis:
- Monitor industry trends, analyze communication metrics, and adjust strategies based on data-driven insights to maximize impact and reach.
Requirements for the role:
- A strong publication record with expertise in topics such as life sciences and biotech on digital platforms.
- Experience in startup environments and comfort with ambiguity is an advantage.
- Background in scientific roles in biotechnology and life science is a big advantage.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful science communications strategies.
- Fluent or native English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Talent for translating complex scientific concepts into engaging content.
