Summary:
Responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day shipping department and preparing items for shipment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepares items for shipment according to shipping orders.
- Compares identifying information such as count, weight or description of outgoing shipments against shipping orders or other records.
- Assembles shipping containers and inserts items into containers using appropriate filler. Stamps, stencils, or marks identifying information and shipping instructions onto containers.
- Posts weights, shipping charges and affixes postage.
- Routes items and stock to appropriate destination as requested.
- Maintains shipping and receiving documentation in a neat and orderly manner.
- Receives and records all incoming inventory distribution items and check-in items. Reports any discrepancies to management.
- Performs part marking on all parts prior to shipments.
- Maintains area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
- Maintains and inventories all shipping materials.
- Access customer portals to retrieve shipping info to create ASN.
- Follow, Update, and maintain packaging and shipping work instructions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Skills Requirements:
- Shipping and Receiving experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Organizational skills

- Must be able to work last Saturday of each month and New Years Eve.
Working Conditions:
- Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
- May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
- Ability to move around shop and stand for 70% of the workday.
- Frequently lift, carry, or move and position objects weighing up to 55 lbs.
- Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
