Job Purpose: e2Companies seeks an experienced Controller to lead our accounting department. This role involves overseeing general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, mentor staff, prepare financial statements, and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors. The role also includes designing, documenting, and implementing internal control procedures. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Finance and offers significant interaction with the executive team.
Duties And Responsibilities
Financial Oversight: Direct all accounting and financial reporting activities.
Team Leadership: Hire, train, and mentor accounting staff, ensuring cross-training for continuity.
Policy and Compliance: Develop and enforce accounting policies compliant with US GAAP and all relevant regulations.
Financial Close: Manage monthly, quarterly closing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
Audit Coordination: Act as the main point of contact for external audits, ensuring compliance with timelines and deliverables.
Tax Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws, overseeing the timely filing of all required returns.
ERP System Expert: Optimize the use of the company's ERP system for maximum efficiency.
Process Improvement: Document, develop, and refine accounting processes, focusing on continuous improvement.
Internal Controls: Collaborate in designing and implementing internal controls for SOX readiness.
Strategic Planning: Assist in preparing the annual operating plan and provide financial insights to various stakeholders for strategic decisions.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Foster relationships across departments for effective communication and business operations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Provide financial information to support capital raising and business objectives.
Policy Adherence: Ensure all company policies are followed.
Education, Experience, And Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting; active CPA license in Florida preferred.
Experience: At least 4 years in accounting roles within a mid-sized company, with increasing responsibilities. 3 years in audit practice at a public accounting firm.
Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP, SEC regulations; familiarity with IFRS beneficial.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (SAGE Intacct experience preferred), MS Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
Soft Skills: Strong business acumen, excellent communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage in a fast-paced environment.
