The Benefits Analyst supports all health and welfare benefit plans and programs company wide. Provides daily support in the areas of benefit administration and leaves of absence (LOA) management. Includes new hire onboarding, annual open enrollment, benefit and leaves of absence inquiries, system updates, analytics and reporting. Provides excellent customer service to all employees and resolves issues in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. Has solid knowledge of benefits and leave administration, along with technical skills, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and sound judgement.GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Benefits Management:
a. Assists in supporting employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), COBRA, supplemental benefits and wellness programs.
b. Acts as first point of contact for general benefit inquiries received through the benefits inbox.
c. Manages Workday tasks, such as processing life events, new hire benefits, and missing information.
d. Leverages contact with the benefits vendors and third-party administrators to resolve escalated issues.
e. Assists with provider premium billing statements and resolve any discrepancies.
f. Monitors weekly error reports from carriers, interfacing with carrier and system contacts to resolve enrollment data issues.
g. Partners with payroll to ensure accuracy of benefit deductions, processing adjustments when necessary and streamline current procedures to ensure proper data flow to relevant parties.
h. Assists with the coordination of the Open Enrollment process, including communication, training, vendor updates, and other tasks.
i. Works with the communications team regarding overall content and updating of the benefits intranet pages and wellness program pages
2. LOA Administration:
a. Works closely with leave/ disability vendor to aid in the administration of the LOA process (including short-term disability (STD), family medical leave (FML), ADAAA, Workers’ Compensation, and long-term disability (LTD).
b. Manages LOAs that fall outside the vendor’s scope, such as personal leave and other types of company leaves.
c. Acts as the liaison between team members and leave/ disability vendor when issues arise.
d. Manages communications with internal leaders regarding their team member’s LOA.
e. Ensures LOA processing and status in Workday, and internal leave tracking tools are updated accordingly.
f. Interpret FMLA, STD, LTD, workers compensation, and ADAAA plans, programs, policies and procedures for employees and provide advice and remediation of escalated issues.
g. Partners with payroll to ensure accuracy of applied time off accruals and Paid Parental leave where applicable.
h. Oversees the billing of benefit premiums to team members on LOA.
i. Coordinates with internal leads, HR colleagues and leave/ disability vendor to facilitate a smooth transition for employees returning from leave, including accommodation requests and job modifications.
3. Workers’ Compensation:
a. Works closely with Workers’ Compensation (WC) vendor to assist in the processing of claims according to established standards, requirements and procedures.
b. Manages communications with internal leads and HR colleagues regarding team members’ WC case when needed.
c. Other special projects and duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Experience:
• Required: Minimum three (3) years Human Resources experience, with special emphasis on benefits and leave administration.
• Preferred: Three years of Healthcare or Insurance industry experience. Two years of Workday experience.
Education:
• Required: High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree or four years additional experience in lieu of education.

- Report Analysis Skills: Comprehend and analyze statistical reports.
