We are seeking a full-time, Software Engineer II for our engineering team in Indianapolis, IN. We have been headquartered just one hour south of Chicago since 1990, with additional offices in Boston, MA, Concord, NC, and Raleigh, NC. This role will allow further advancement to Software Engineer II and beyond as described in E2i’s promotion plan.

We are looking to build a team in the Raleigh area and need a talented engineer to help jump-start our team! We are looking for someone with strong work experience with SQL and proficient in coding languages such as C#, Java, Python, and C past educational courses. Our ideal candidate will also have a solid understanding of OS/networking as well as written and oral communication.

- Manager, Indiana Division
Position Type:
- Exempt; 40 - 45 hours per week (Monday – Friday)
- Overtime contingent upon business need; requested and approved in writing by the CEO
Snapshot of Position:
- This role and is responsible for designing, implementing, and testing software automation and systems for business or manufacturing systems.
Location & Travel:
- Primary Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
- Up to 25% Travel: Travel to E2i's other offices for short-term projects, commissioning activities, and training course. Travel will either be 4-5 days during the week – being home on the weekends and in some cases travel 10 days through weekends with 4 days off

Your Role’s Responsibilities
Informatics
- Work with the Manager, Indiana Division to build good client relationships through excellent software development skills, work ethic, and professionalism.
- Develop functional and design specifications for software systems
- Design, develop, and support software, databases, and reports
- Develop and execute testing protocols and ensure that acceptance criterion is met
- Investigate and solve software problems
- Maintains life-long learner mindset by individual study, attending webinars, courses, and conferences
You are Good at:
- Promoting a positive, helpful, and friendly environment with colleagues and customers
- Recognizing development patterns and methodologies and where they should be applied
- Being proactive and taking a structured approach to projects and responsibilities
- Reading, developing, and understand most coding languages (C#, VB, Java, etc.)
- Fundamentals of database development and administration
- Fundamentals of documentation, writing and reviewing functional requirements, design specifications, and test cases
What You Need For This Position:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology/systems, or a closely related field
- 3 years of experience in coordinating projects and developing software
- Applicable professional qualifications such as Microsoft, Oracle, or Cisco certification
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong technical aptitude to understand and explain the services we provide to potential clients
- Effective communication style that can engage others to build credibility and rapport
