Position Overview
We have an excellent opportunity for an Environmental Compliance Manager and Site Inspector to support our Helena, Montana office at multiple facilities and clients throughout Montana. The Environmental Compliance Manager and Site Inspector will need to be located in the Helena, Bozeman, Great Falls, or Billings regions of Montana. You will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects which include environmental permitting, compliance reporting, facility assessments, and implementing best management practices for various natural resource needs.
Responsibilities
- Serving as EA's point-of-contact with clients.
- Leading project efforts and completing compliance tasks/mentoring early career staff on compliance tasks such as:
- Inspect and sample stormwater discharges from various facilities or sites.
- Inspect aboveground storage tanks and other regulated indoor/outdoor industrial areas.
- Assist with waste management and disposal.
- Travel for field work or work at client sites up to 2 weeks at a time
- Work with facility personnel to gather information to complete plan updates and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with managers to complete regulatory compliance audits, assessments, and inspection forms.
- Prepare environmental compliance reports and plans
- Evaluating and implementing client sustainability goals.
- Supporting climate action and resiliency planning.
- Regulatory applicability analyses, technical research, and project reports.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in environmental science, or related field.
- 3 or more years of professional experience
- Experience with Federal and Montana environmental regulatory requirements.
- Experience conducting environmental compliance inspections, sampling and/or audits.
- Experience with project management and compliance program development including SOPs, training, guidance, etc.
- Comfortable working in both an office, remote field, and industrial environment.
- Current OSHA HAZWOPER training and First Aid/CPR certifications are a plus.
- The position requires a background check, valid driver's license in good standing, and potential random drug screenings.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and stand/walk for up to 8 hours each day.
Note: This position requires specific driving duties. You must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.
