Position: Early Career Environmental Scientist
Location: Brighton, MI
Salary Range: $40,000 - $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Early Career Environmental Scientist to join our team in the Brighton office. This position will support both existing and upcoming task orders and remedial action framework contracts, as well as projects for other federal, state, and commercial entities.
As an Environmental Scientist, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, including soil, groundwater, and sediment investigation and remediation across the Great Lakes region and nationally. Your responsibilities will include supporting the growth and diversification of our Brighton office and the Great Lakes region while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior staff in developing project documents, including work plans, reports, and other deliverables.
- Participate in the planning, coordination, and execution of field efforts, including developing scopes of work, schedules, and procuring subcontractors.
- Contribute to the evaluation and interpretation of environmental data.
- Conduct field sampling activities (soil, groundwater, and sediment) in various environmental settings.
- Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Participate in environmental sampling and other field activities, including working in both office and field settings.
Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Experience: 0-3 years of relevant experience in environmental science, with an emphasis on environmental remediation and regulatory frameworks (e.g., CERCLA, RCRA, NPDES, state regulations).
- Field Work Experience: Preferred experience in field sampling, developing sampling and analysis plans, and coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Skills:
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to work in both field and office environments.
