Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Python Developer for a 12-month contractual role in Boston, MA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Python, SQL, PL/SQL, and AWS to work on both backend and frontend development projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions, integrating cloud-based services and building scalable applications. The role requires excellent technical proficiency as well as strong communication skills to effectively liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain full-stack web applications using Python, focusing on backend logic and integrations with cloud-based services.
Work on SQL and PL/SQL to write complex queries, stored procedures, and integrate database systems with applications.
Leverage AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS to design and deploy cloud-based solutions.
Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with both frontend and backend systems.
Build and maintain dynamic, responsive front-end interfaces using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.
Implement automated testing, continuous integration (CI), and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines.
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions that align with business needs.
Provide ongoing maintenance and optimization of code and applications throughout the project lifecycle.
Troubleshoot and debug any issues related to application performance, functionality, or security.
Document code, processes, and architecture to ensure scalability and future maintainability.
Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience with Python development using frameworks like Django or Flask.
Strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL, including creating stored procedures, complex queries, and managing databases.
Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and related cloud platforms.
Proficiency in full-stack development, with experience in both back-end and front-end technologies.
Knowledge of modern front-end web technologies, including JavaScript and frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular.
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with Git for version control and working in an agile development environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
Familiarity with microservices architecture and patterns.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Knowledge of DevOps tools for monitoring, logging, and security.
