Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Management Expert to set-up warehouse management system. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of warehouse layout design, material flow, storage systems, and inventory management principles. The person will be responsible for set-up parts storage system, optimum space utilization etc.
Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders (warehouse managers, IT staff, etc.) to understand their needs and requirements for the WMS.
- Process Mapping: Analyze current warehouse processes
- Develop and implement optimized warehouse layouts that maximize space utilization and improve material flow.
- Design and implement storage solutions, including racking systems, shelving, and automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS).
- Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create detailed warehouse layouts.
- Analyze material flow processes and identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline material flow and reduce handling time.
- Optimize picking, packing, and shipping processes.
- Implement lean warehousing principles and methodologies.
- Inventory Management & Control:
- Collaborate with inventory management teams to optimize inventory storage and retrieval.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and optimize storage locations.
- Manage warehouse planning projects from conception to completion.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation.
- Oversee the implementation of new warehouse technologies and systems.
- System Configuration: Configure and customize the WMS to meet specific client requirements, including warehouse layout, inventory management rules, and order processing workflows.
- Implementation Planning: Develop detailed implementation plans, including timelines, resources etc.
- Training: Provide training to warehouse staff on the use of the new WMS and related processes.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and implement safety protocols for warehouse operations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CLTD).
- Experience with automated warehouse systems (e.g., AS/RS, AGVs).
