Job Summary
The MDS Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely completion of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments for patients. This position requires a deep understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop individualized care plans
- Ensure compliance with ICD-10 coding standards and HIPAA regulations
- Utilize Epic or similar systems to input and maintain patient data
- Oversee discharge planning and utilization management processes
- Coordinate with case managers and PICU staff for seamless patient care transitions
Qualifications
- Proficiency in MDS assessments and documentation
- Knowledge of discharge planning procedures
- Familiarity with utilization management principles
- Understanding of case management practices
- Ability to work within regulatory guidelines and standards
- Experience with Epic or similar electronic health record systems
Job Type: Contract
