Shift Note : Day 8s ; weekends and float applicable

Guaranteed Hours : 40 Hours/weekly

Description:

Pharmacy Technician

This position is responsible for supporting the practice of pharmacy, performing delegated tasks, and performing drug distribution, compounding, record keeping, and clerical activities under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

In this position you will:

• Interpret, assemble and label prescriptions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Understand the requirements for handling, distribution, inventory control and security of controlled substances and follows procedures.
• Demonstrate proper infection control, hood cleaning, sterile technique, calculations and basic workflow of IV room.
• Use prepackaging equipment labels and records correctly.
• Demonstrate proper technique in cleaning of the vertical flow hood and in preparations, labeling and disposal of chemotherapy.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:

• Interested candidates must have a high school diploma, or a high school equivalency diploma issued by an appropriate educational authority. You must also have six months of experience assisting with the filling of medical prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. The required six months of experience may be substituted by possession of a Phenacyl Technician Certification accredited by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or a certificate of diploma from a pharmacy technician training program accredited by the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists. Pay: $1,500.00 - $1,600.00 per week
