Junior Accountant (Accounts Receivable) 

EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for 62,888 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Junior Accountant (Accounts Receivable) to work full time for the Finance department.

The Junior Accountant (Accounts Receivable) is an non-exempt position with an hourly salary of $27.37- 32.85. The office is located in Garden City, NY. The role reports to the Accounting Manager.

Primary Purpose of Job:

The Junior Accountant is responsible for accounts receivable functions and for being the first-line agency liaison to EAC Network’s funders for assigned program contracts.  

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Accounts Receivable- creation and booking as assigned of certain predetermined claims (billing) associated with program contracts, including closeouts.
2. Tracking and reporting of program expenses against the contracted budget as well as creating budgets.
3. Verify and input all cash receipt deposits prepared for entry.
4. Compare and verify all checks received and deposited on a weekly basis.
5. Assist with Finance department filing, and audit preparation work.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

1. 1-3 years of accounts receivable experience, preferably in a not-for-profit setting required.
2. Basic knowledge of accounting debits and credits.
3. Possess good math skills, with an understanding of percentages and allocations.
4. Proficient with computer applications such as spreadsheets, databases, and Microsoft Office.
5. Possess good communication, organizational, and data entry skills.
6. Be responsible and flexible.

Salary : $27 - $33
