EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for a over 62,888 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Public Relations and Marketing Intern to work full time for the Development Department.

The Internship opportunity is unpaid offering a fantastic opportunity for students seeking college credit or course requirements. Flexibility to work up to 20 hours per week. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM and the office is located in Garden City, NY. The role reports to the Public Relations & Marketing Manager.

Primary Purpose of Job:

The Marketing Intern works with Public Relations & Marketing Manager to assist in the writing and research of all external communication, social media, press releases and newsletters.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the Development of the agency newsletters.
2. Assist with the Management of update to agency website.
3. Assist with the Creation and Managing of Social media posts to advance the mission and raise awareness/money for large and small asks.
4. Assist with the Writing of press releases with the ability to engage local/national media and coordinate press events.
5. Assist with the Development of Social media posts to advance the mission and raise awareness/money for large and small asks.
6. Assist with the process of Engaging local/national media and coordinate press events and releases.
7. Assist with taking photos and catalog pictures that recap events. Build awareness and create engagement.
8. Assist with the Preparation communication material that include, but are not limited to general correspondence, solicitation materials, acknowledgements, and other individualized donor/stewardship communications.
9. Assist the Public Relations & Marketing Manager on all aspects of event planning and administrative work.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

1. Excellent organizational, multitasking, writing and communication skills.
2. Knowledge and or willingness to learn Microsoft 365, Constant Contact, Canva, WordPress
3. Willing to learn the skills necessary to creating marketing materials for external publication, creating content for social media and using Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Ability to research current affairs, programs and policies.
5. Ability to make cold calls to prospective supporters.
6. Ability to make calls to current supporters.
7. College student looking for college credit.
