Job Summary:
The EADS Group, Inc. is accepting applications in the Altoona, PA office for Transportation Construction Manager (TCM) for existing and anticipated work located in and around Western Pennsylvania. Job responsibilities include performing inspections on roads, bridges, or other transportation projects, testing materials for quality assurance, calculating quantities of work performed and materials used. A TCM manages complex and multiple construction projects from assignment to completion in a professional, timely, cost effective and safe manner. Supervisory responsibilities include the planning, assigning, and reviewing work of other Transportation Construction Inspectors and Supervisors, training inspection personnel associated with project construction, and making on-site technical decisions. The TCM supervises the inspection of materials and workmanship for compliance with contract requirements and established standards. The TCM interacts constructively and professionally with supervisors, co-workers, subordinates, contractors, vendors, suppliers, property owners and public at large.
Here's what you'll need:
• The successful candidate will need a minimum of 15 years prior experience in PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Highway and Bridge Construction Inspection.
• Applicants should have good verbal and written communication skills, math skills, and be able to work well in public.
• Must be willing to work outdoors and be physically able to do fieldwork.
Here's what we'd like to see:
• Supervision in PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Highway and Bridge Construction Inspection is preferred.
• Additional certifications in ACI, NECEPT, CDS NextGen, and NICET are helpful and will determine the inspector's project classifications.
