Job Summary: The Foreclosure Paralegal will assist attorneys in managing and processing foreclosure cases. This includes gathering evidence, preparing legal documents, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Preparation:
- Prepare legal documents such as summons, complaints, and dispositive motions.
- Draft and file pleadings with the court.
- Review and organize case files and relevant documents.
- Prepare and manage all post-judgment documentation related to Sheriff Sales, including preparation of Sheriff’s Sale Notices, preparation and filing of bids, coordinating and scheduling with the sheriff’s office, and overseeing sale results.
- Case Management:
- Maintain and update case management systems.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely filings.
- Assist in the coordination of court hearings and trials.
- Research:
- Conduct legal research related to foreclosure laws and regulations.
- Investigate property titles and ownership issues.
- Compile evidence and documentation to support foreclosure actions.
- Client Communication:
- Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
- Respond to client inquiries and assist with their concerns.
- Administrative Support:
- Organize and maintain case files, both physical and electronic.
- Prepare billing statements and track billable hours.
Qualifications:
- Paralegal certification is a plus.
- Sheriff Sale knowledge and/or experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in foreclosure or real estate law.
- Strong knowledge of foreclosure processes and relevant laws.
- Proficient in legal research and document management software.
- Experience filing pleadings through online e-filing systems with the Courts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
This position is essential for supporting the legal team in efficiently handling foreclosure cases while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
