Primary Teacher

Position Overview:

We are seeking a patient, honest, and kind Primary School Teacher to join our team! The person selected must love God and be willing to teach Christian values within the curriculum. The Primary Teacher will be responsible for instruction to students by creating lesson plans in subjects such as reading, writing, math, science, social studies and social and emotional learning. The ideal candidate must have a genuine passion for teaching younger children and have previous experience in a teaching or teaching assistant role. The focus of the role is to make learning fun and interactive while teaching our scholars. The teacher will also comply with the following:

• To oversee students’ work within the various disciplines and ensure that learning experiences offered to students are appropriate and relevant to their needs.
• To continually review and develop the range of learning experiences offered to students.
• To keep informed of curriculum developments relevant to the subject.
• To contribute to detailed schemes of work in line with national requirements and school policy.
• To ensure that students’ work is regularly assessed and progress monitored, and that accurate records of progress are kept.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Candidates with at least two years of teaching experience is preferred however less teaching experienced teachers will be trained. Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood, or a related field. Individuals must demonstrate a love for children, a thorough knowledge of the academic content area, classroom management skills, the ability to motivate and inspire students, and the ability to communicate effectively with parents other teachers and administrators, both in person and in writing.

Specific responsibilities include (but not limited to):

● Evaluate students’ work and assign appropriate grades.

● Plan and implement classroom activities, such as discussion and cooperative learning activities.

● Develop and implement assessments to monitor student progress.

● Maintain and update student records, such as grades and attendance.

● Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student learning.

● Participate in professional development activities and in-service training.

● Model appropriate behavior and foster a positive learning environment.

● Provide content-related and appropriate instruction based on our current curriculum.

● Design and present individual lesson plans using a variety of teaching techniques that appeal to various learning styles and methods.

● Responsibly and appropriately integrate technology into the classroom, as necessary, to support academic instruction.

● Enforce all administrative policies and rules governing students' learning and behavior.

● Participate in team meetings, committee meetings, school functions, educational opportunities, tutoring, conferences, workshops and other trainings as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38,193.00 - $42,000.00 per year
