What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compass Aftercare Group Leader position at EAGLE Arizona?
Job Purpose
Under the direction of the Site Director I or II and the regional leadership team, Compass Group Leaders will be responsible for supervising a small group of children during transitions, free play activities, snack time, daily devotions, and homework sessions. The ultimate job of each Group Leader is to provide a safe, welcoming environment in and out of school to help children understand their identity as children of God and how their actions and behavior flows from this identity.
Essential Responsibilities and Competencies
- Embody and demonstrate a loving, positive character and ensure that students exhibit the same values
- Develop activities and supervise and guide small groups of students and individual children as they learn throughout the day
- Create age-appropriate teaching moments out of everyday occurrences
- Attend required staff meetings and training sessions and meet all state professional development requirements
- Build rapport with students, parents, and families
- Support the success of all Compass programs; sharing best practices and providing input to improve regional and individual programs
- Communicate and abide by all policies and procedures mandated by Compass Educational Programs
- Promote a positive image within the community as a positive example for the children and families
- Assist in maintaining a well-organized, safe, clean, and attractive classroom environment conducive to learning and that meet Compass quality standards
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Experience working with young children, preferably in a Christian environment
- Knowledge or willingness to learn current technology (i.e. smart boards, iPads, word processing programs, photo/video editing tools, and Outlook)
- Experience integrating the Christian faith and character development
- Age requirement of 18 years or older due to licensing requirements
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Card
- Negative TB test within the past 12 months
