About the Role:
As our News Director, you will be responsible for writing and reporting news for Salina Post, our leading digital news platform, while also producing and delivering daily audio newscasts for our Eagle radio stations. This position requires a strong journalist who can identify compelling stories, develop relationships with local newsmakers, and ensure our audience remains informed and engaged.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, write, and publish timely news stories for SalinaPost.com
- Create and deliver daily audio newscasts for our Eagle radio stations 99KG, KINA, and 94.5 Prime FM.
- Develop strong relationships with local leaders, law enforcement, and community stakeholders to stay ahead of breaking
- Conduct interviews and cover events that matter to Salina and the surrounding area
- Ensure accuracy, credibility, and fairness in all reporting
- Collaborate with our radio teams to keep Salina Post and Eagle Radio the go-to sources for news in the region
- Utilize social media and digital platforms to enhance audience engagement
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong writing and audio production skills
- Experience in journalism, broadcasting, or a related field
- Ability to work under deadlines while maintaining accuracy and credibility
- Comfortable conducting interviews and engaging with the community
- A self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with social media and digital news strategies
