This hybrid position will focus on managing both our programming and sports coverage. The role is perfect for someone who thrives in both strategic programming and hands-on sports broadcasting.
You’ll oversee the station’s daily programming, hosting local shows and leading community-focused content. You’ll also write and provide morning sports news coverage, keeping our audience informed on local sports. You’ll be the driving force behind local infomercials with local businesses and organizations while contributing to our website with fresh sports updates. A blend of creative leadership, technical expertise, and a true passion for the local community will be key to your success in this role. Key Responsibilities:

Programming Leadership:
- Oversee daily station programming, including show scheduling, content development, and on-air talent management.
- Ensure programming aligns with station goals and meets the needs of our audience.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement creative programming ideas.
- Host On-Air Shifts, a local sports talk show, Infomercial shows, Promos & Commercials.

Sports Content Oversight:
- Lead all aspects of sports coverage for our 4 stations, including managing a live sports talk show.
- Call live play-by-play for Great Bend Panther Sports and other area post season events and tournaments.
- Update sports content on greatbendpost.com with scores, standings, schedules and AP provided content.
- Produce daily morning sports newscasts.
- Develop and manage the station's sports programming schedule, balancing local team coverage and special sports events.

Team Collaboration:
- Provide leadership and guidance to on-air talent, ensuring consistency and quality across programming.
- Work with the marketing and promotions team to develop strategies that promote sports programming and sponsorships.
- Foster relationships with local sports teams, coaches, and community leaders to enhance sports coverage and audience engagement.

Station Operations:
- Assist in managing the technical and operational aspects of sports programming, ensuring smooth broadcasts.
- Ensure compliance with FCC regulations and station policies for all programming.
Qualifications:
- Experience in radio programming, preferably with a focus on sports.
- Strong play-by-play announcing experience.
- Proven track record in managing programming, scheduling, and on-air talent.
- Excellent writing skills for both on-air content and digital articles.
- Deep knowledge of local, regional, and national sports.
- Familiarity with broadcast software, audio equipment, and scheduling tools.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by sports schedules.
- A passion for local radio and sports, with a focus on community engagement.
