We are currently looking for a Traveling Controls Technician to join our Controls team. The location for position is flexible and can be based anywhere, depending on project needs and assignments. Our ideal candidate for a Traveling Controls Technician is someone who has proven experience with HVAC, a technical background, and a focus on continuous learning and development. They will be self- motivated and demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Primary responsibilities for eagle’s Traveling Controls Technician include:
- Loading and configuring system-level controller software, validating system functionality, and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
- Performing commissioning and diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators) while completing required documentation.
- Communicating job progress, issues, and updates to management and customers to ensure transparency and customer satisfaction.
- Calibrating systems using basic electronic test equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Documenting system changes and provide necessary details for as-built documentation.
- Responding to warranty calls, assessing issues, and providing solutions while maintaining detailed customer records on service history and recommended upgrades.
- Completing administrative tasks such as time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
- Following all safety protocols and attend required safety training sessions.
Primary qualifications for eagle’s Traveling Controls Technician include:
- Associate degree, relevant technical education, or equivalent experience preferred (minimum requirement: High School Diploma or GED).
- Basic computer skills required; IT knowledge or experience is a plus.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to professionally represent the company to customers and external contacts.
- Quick learner with the ability to grasp new concepts efficiently.
- Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems is a plus.
- Experience with building automation systems such as Delta, Tridium, or PLC systems preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
