Compensation : $33.05-$42.93

Schedule : Full time, generally M-F, 40 hrs per week. Periodic remote work possible with approval.

Reports to : Human Resources Manager

Number of Employees under Supervision and Titles : No direct or indirect reports.

Job Summary :

The HR Generalist is responsible for running daily HR functions, services, policies and programs related to the organization's workforce. This includes, but is not limited to the employee life cycle stages such as recruiting, onboarding, training, benefits administration, engagement and off boarding. The HR Generalist will also assist with leave administration, paid time off, workers compensation, unemployment, records maintenance and compliance with policies and procedures.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Create and maintain HR files, employee records and filing systems with integrity and confidentiality. Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Coordinate and conduct applicant drug screens, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle checks, and social security number verification and manage new hire immunization requirements.
  • Assist with New Hire Academy and onboarding of new employees.
  • Assist with ensuring all hiring and recruitment processes are compliant with all local, state, and federal laws and District policies and standards.
  • Answer HR inquiries within scope and inform and escalate issues to Human Resources Manager.
  • Serve as the Human Resources representative when participating on project teams.
  • Train new hires on Human Resources processes, programs, policies, information systems, etc.
  • Maintain and enforce confidentiality.
  • Manage the administration of offered benefits, including health, retirement, leave of absence, employee perks / wellness and other programs as appropriate.
  • Execute and support special events such as benefits open enrollment, all staff meetings, community outreach events, etc.
  • Complete employment verification queries according to organizational policies and procedure as required.
  • Create and manage systems for staff rewards, recognition and retention.
  • Assist with paid time off policies, accruals and administration.
  • Assist with the management of worker's compensation : submit and track appropriate documentation, communicate with supervisors and injured workers to provide status updates and set expectations and complete work comp investigations on claims.
  • Assist with managing leaves and / or accommodations under the Family and Medical Leave Act, ADA, Short and Long Term Disability and other leave policies.
  • Maintain employment labor law compliance posters annually.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
  • Essential Responsibilities Related to Client Privacy

  • Expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the District's privacy policies, procedures and practices as required by federal and Colorado law and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a healthcare provider.
  • May access protected health information and other patient information only to the extent that is necessary to complete job duties. May only share such information with those who have a need to know specific patient information to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other company operations.
  • Encouraged and expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding the District's policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of that policy to the designated Privacy Officer.

  • Expected to actively participate in the District's privacy training and is required to communicate privacy policy information to coworkers, students, patients and others in accordance with District policy.
  • Qualifications :

  • 2-4 years of experience in HR or a similar role.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (ADP experience preferred).
  • Solid understanding of human resources principles, practices and procedures required.
  • Highly detail-oriented, able to work independently and multi-task.
  • Knowledge and / or experience with Google suite.
  • Essential knowledge, skills and abilities needed for position :

    Computer Operations

    Proficient computer skills; the ability to type, keyboard, navigate in various programs. Familiarity with MS Office and / or Google Suite as well as strong excel skills. Able to quickly learn new systems, as well as proficient in sourcing information and being resourceful.

    Experience using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance productivity.

    Licenses or Accreditations

    HR Certification : PHR / SPHR, SHRM-CP / SHRM-SCP

    Language and Communication Skills

    Ability to communicate orally with a wide range of individuals, in various and potentially stressful situations. Ability to read and interpret documents such as legal guidelines. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence with a high degree of professionalism and accuracy. Ability to effectively interact and communicate with District staff, the Board, vendors and partners.

    Reasoning / Critical Thinking Skills

    Ability to critically think, solve problems, and use analytical and strategic planning skills.

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    Work environment is a typical office with some exposure to highly emotional and stressful situations. Must be able to remain calm and professional in all interactions.
