Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Tableau Engineer with strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL to join our team supporting the State of Ohio (Ohio Department of Agriculture - ODA). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Tableau dashboards and reports, as well as writing and optimizing Oracle PL/SQL queries to support data analysis and reporting needs. This role requires a strong understanding of data visualization, database management, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and reports to meet business requirements.
Write, optimize, and debug complex Oracle PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to extract and transform data.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Perform data analysis to ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of reports and dashboards.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Tableau visualizations and Oracle database performance.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data from multiple sources into Tableau.
Document technical processes, data flows, and dashboard designs for future reference.
Provide training and support to end-users on Tableau usage and best practices.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Tableau Developer or Engineer, with a strong portfolio of Tableau dashboards and reports.
Proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL, including writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
Strong understanding of data visualization best practices and principles.
Experience Working With Large Datasets And Relational Databases.
Familiarity with data integration and ETL processes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working with government or public sector clients is a plus.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of other BI tools (e.g., Power BI, QlikView) is a plus.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools.
Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis.
