Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Fire Alarm Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, low voltage applications, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. The Fire Alarm Inspector will play a crucial role in maintaining the safety of our clients' facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections and functional tests of fire alarm systems to ensure they comply with laws, codes, and regulations.
- Identify and document deficiencies, provide recommendations for corrective actions, and communicate findings to customers and internal teams.
- Conduct troubleshooting, basic repairs, and maintenance of fire alarm systems as needed.
- Prepare accurate and detailed inspection reports and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant codes, standards, and industry best practices, including NFPA 72.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and provide excellent customer service.
- Provide assistance in performing assigned tasks for fire life safety system services; Assists in responding to service calls (emergency and on-site).
- Use sound judgment to resolve problems and foster positive relationships
- Maintain confidentiality of company and personnel information
- Provide updates to the Service Manager on progress and challenges
- Qualifications
- Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
- Preferred: Additional certifications or training, such as:
- NICET Level 1 or higher in Fire Alarm Systems
- OSHA 10 or 30 Certification
- Experience:
- Required: 2–3 years of experience in fire alarm inspections or a related field.
- Preferred: Familiarity with a variety of fire alarm systems and the ability to interpret blueprints and system designs.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, including panel operations, device functionality, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of NFPA 72 and other relevant codes and standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using testing equipment, mobile devices, and related software.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 70 lbs.
- Comfortable working at heights and operating ladders or lifts.
- Working Conditions:
- Work is performed on active construction sites or customer facilities under varied climate conditions.
- Travel may be required based on customer needs.
- Overtime may be necessary to meet deadlines or emergency demands.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
