Job Summary: As an integral member of the Accounting/Finance team, our Staff Accountant performs a wide array of responsibilities, including reporting, analysis, data reconciliation, and working with auditors. Responsibilities:
- Assists with the month-end closing and reporting process.
- Assists in preparing the monthly financial reporting and analysis package.
- Prepares and records journal entries, including month-end entries.
- Responsible for job revenue and cost recognition process.
- Prepares monthly account reconciliations in support of the financial statements.
- Tracks Fixed Asset purchases and disposals and prepares business personal property tax returns.
- Reconciles Unearned Inspection and Monitoring Revenue.
- Reviews inventory transactions for purchase price variances.
- Prepares and files sales & use tax returns on a monthly basis.
- Performs corporate credit card reconciliation and analysis to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
- Supports the integration of acquired companies and performs acquisition accounting and consolidation.
- Performs ad-hoc variance analyses.
- Assists the Controller in the annual financial audit with external auditors.
- Performs ad-hoc reporting and special projects as required.
- Acts as a back-up for payroll, AP, and AR.
- Must continuously adhere to the Company’s Controlled Substances and Alcohol Standard.
- Expected to work safely by using good judgment and following all Company safety policies and work procedures, with the authority to stop an unsafe act.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Plus,
- 3 years of accounting experience, OR
- The equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Open to training an entry level candidate with an Accounting Degree.
