What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dorm Parent position at Eagle Hill School?
Dorm Parents support high school students with learning differences, fostering the development of daily living skills and helping students thrive in a college prep environment. This role involves guiding 18-20 students in areas like executive function, time management, and organization, with the goal of preparing them for college.
Hours:
•Sunday: 5 pm - 11 pm
•Monday - Thursday: 2:45 pm - 11 pm
•Student wakeups: Monday through Friday, 6:45 am until all students leave the dorm.
On-campus residence is required, including overnight stays from Sunday through Friday morning wakeups.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage a student group, providing individualized support in executive functions, organization, and time management.
•Supervise morning routines, including wakeups, dress code, and timeliness.
•Oversee evening study hall sessions.
•Collaborate with faculty to ensure consistent dorm supervision.
•Facilitate clubs, activities, and manage/plan the monthly dorm floor activities.
•Uphold community guidelines and facilitate positive faculty-student and student-student interactions.
•Serve as the primary contact for students' families.
•Maintain student records and submit required reports.
•Perform weekend duty rotations and travel/transportation responsibilities.
•Attend parent conferencing during fall and spring family weekends.
•Attend training sessions, faculty meetings, and events as required.
•Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
