Position Summary
Eagle Hill School in Hardwick, MA is seeking a summer swimming instructor. The Swimming Instructor role is primarily a teaching position within our five-week academic summer camp, designed for middle school-aged students with diagnosed ADHD and/or specific learning differences.
This position focuses on developing swimming skills.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with students to develop summer swimming expertise. The camp’s pool facilities include an outdoor pool as well as an Olympic sized indoor pool.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a variety of swimming courses during the summer session. Class sizes typically average 5-8 students.
- Test water quality and coordinate with our maintenance team for outdoor pool maintenance.
- Support after school programming and ensure the effective operation of the outdoor pool
- Plan and execute an end of the summer “Swim Olympics” for students and faculty
Session Details:
Dates: June 30, 2025 – August 1, 2025
Hours:
- Monday through Thursday from 7:45 AM to 4:40PM
- Friday 7:45 AM to 3:00PM
- Four weekend shifts date of your choosing to be compensated separately at $130/ shift.

Candidates must have current Water Safety Instructor as well as a current lifeguarding certification.
Compensation:
- $4,500, paid in biweekly installments.
- This position is not eligible for retirement matching or health benefits.
