EIG specializes in storage and organization with a focus in garage storage; we produce a variety of storage products ranging from ceiling mounted storage racks to sports storage equipment. We are looking to expand into more product categories and are looking for someone with great critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Job Description
As a member of the Product Development team, the role will focus on sourcing new products, improving existing products, and working with the marketing department to take a product to market. A large portion of the role will focus on market research as well as using said research to create or improve a product.
Essential Functions
- Perform market research on products to help guide the development process
- Participate in communications with new/existing international suppliers and factories regarding samples, product revisions, and company documentation relevant to updating existing and/or launching new products
- Participate in negotiating pricing with suppliers and running cost analyses to determine market feasibility of a products price point
- Assist in sample inspections and assembly to ensure quality standards are met
- Provide assistance and input at all stages of the product development process
- Work closely with other departments such as Operations, Marketing, and Accounting to ensure proper communication at all stages during product development
Desired Skills/Experience
- High-level communication skills involving technical knowledge and foresight of logistical/mechanical requirements
- Ability to problem solve, think critically, and evaluate situations that consider multiples aspects of a business decision
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities to ensure high-level business decisions are upheld and any risks are mitigated
- Hands on experience and knowledge of using power tools to install and assemble products
- Ability to observe, analyze, and form factually sound conclusions to evaluate decisions/situations in a broad scope
- Personable, easy going, and cognizant of interdepartmental priorities
- Root cause analysis to assist in one-off customer service issues and questions
- Familiarity with project management software to assist in flowcharts, project tasks, and documentation practices is a plus
- Aspiration to continually improve, grow, and absorb information and knowledge

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
