What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Specialist position at Eagle KMC Transportation?
What You Will Do
- Interact and communicate with perspective customers to recruit new business along with interaction with various teams within the organization
- Writes, proofreads and edits copy for brochures, newsletters, print materials and other documents
- Supervise and assists in creating content for email broadcasts
- Communicates with sales and marketing meetings, conferences and training
- Write technical direction on product announcements, marketing brochures, advertisements, marketing specifications
- Ensure availability of the required quantity of material at the needed time for production
- Maintain and ensure that lead times, costs, order multiples, and minimums are accurate
- Manage internal and external sourcing needs
- Manage the new item and new vendor processes
- Communicate proactively with internal departments any sourcing or delay issues that affect production or Eagle members
- Work with planning team members to evaluate forecast and work orders
- Work with QA / QC and Receiving in regards to any quality issues that arise
- Work with Accounts Payable to resolve any account issues with suppliers
- Manage the implementation and maintenance of the manufacturer qualification process
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with suppliers
- Consolidate and reduce vendor count as needed
- Manage the resolution of supplier concerns within the allotted time
- Manage documentation for accuracy regarding all purchasing
- Participate in continuous improvement activities in support of Company business goals
- When appropriate, pitch business development ideas and strategies at boardroom level (and, in some cases, to our human resources team).
- Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments
- Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
- Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments.
- Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
- Follow the latest industry developments and stay up to date on corporate competitors
- Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning
