Job Summary
The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing and standardizing maintenance operations across multiple sites under the Eagle Labs umbrella. This position will play a critical role in enhancing efficiency, reliability, and performance of maintenance activities. The Maintenance Director will also drive initiatives to optimize asset uptime, streamline preventive maintenance, and develop cross-site workforce training programs.
Responsibilities
Maintenance Operations & Equipment Reliability
- Lead and manage daily maintenance operations, ensuring minimal equipment downtime and optimal performance.
- Implement and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan and reduce unplanned failures.
- Ensure timely response to equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting issues to minimize disruptions in production and operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and parts inventory in the UpKeep or other CMMS system.
Process Improvement & Cost Efficiency
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements in maintenance workflows and repair processes to reduce costs and improve productivity.
- Monitor and optimize parts inventory management, ensuring availability of critical spare parts while controlling costs.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to develop solutions that enhance equipment performance and reliability.
- Support and execute continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance best practices and lean maintenance strategies.
Team Leadership & Workforce Development
- Lead and develop a team of maintenance managers, supervisors, and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability for maintenance teams across multiple sites.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance team technical skills and improve maintenance response times.
- Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
Compliance & Budget Management
- Ensure all maintenance activities align with OSHA, safety regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, optimizing costs while maintaining high operational reliability.
- Track and report key maintenance metrics, such as equipment uptime, repair costs, and response times, to drive performance improvements.
Requirements
- Strong leadership and project management skills to drive maintenance standardization and system rollouts.
- In-depth understanding of preventive maintenance strategies and asset lifecycle management.
- Ability to analyze maintenance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and sites.
- Proficiency in CMMS platforms and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with a proactive mindset
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience:
7 years of experience in maintenance management, asset management, or plant operations.
Demonstrated experience implementing and managing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably "UpKeep."
Experience overseeing maintenance operations across multiple locations is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and SMED methodologies.
Certification or License:
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar certification is a plus.
OSHA, Lean Six Sigma, or related certifications are desirable.
