SUMMARY
The Security Officer/EMT under the direction of the Security Sergeant executes and enforces the Tribes gaming operations procedures, controls, and gaming regulations and laws. The Gaming Security Officer/EMT administers Basic Life Support care to sick and injured persons in a pre-hospital setting within the scope of his/her training and State EMT/National Registry license.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patrols all aspects associated with Eagle Mountain Casino and the Gaming Commission to provide emergency care, prevent and discover crimes, maintain order, and answer calls and complaints.
- Escorts money, chip fills, machine and hand-written tickets carried by Casino personnel.
- Stands guard on drop and count activities.
- Assures safety of employees and patrons while on Casino premises and other areas of the Reservation as determined by management.
- To remain mobile at all times in securing all areas of the Tribes gaming operation.
- Cooperate with and enforce all regulations, laws and procedures of all Casino departments and outside Law Enforcement Agencies.
- Escort guests and team members.
- Escort persons determined to be detrimental to the Tribes gaming operation on or off the Casino premises when requested by the Casino Management, Gaming Commission, and/or their authorized representative personnel.
- Communicates with 911/TCAD, hospital, and other medical personnel in person and by radio/telephone.
- Assesses nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed, or need for additional assistance.
- Administers initial BLS treatment at emergency scenes.
- Takes and records patients vital signs, while awaiting EMS.
- Keeps current on treatment techniques, protocol changes, and application of new drugs, material, and equipment.
- Requisitions and restocks supplies, material, and equipment.
- Prepares required reports and maintains records of activities.
- Ensure compliance of all departmental policies and procedures.
- Must attend and be certified in all applicable training programs required.
- All other departmental duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must have a current California Guard Card or the ability to obtain one within 90-days of hire.
- Displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions; includes appropriate people in decision-making process.
- Must have Valid Drivers License and be insurable through the Casinos insurance carrier.
- Must possess a valid and current California State EMT-1A and/or an EMT 1 National Registry License, and have CPR/AED Certificates.
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent guest service skills.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Must have strong report writing skills.
- Must be professional, polite, and respectful towards guests.
- Must be able to handle extended hours when needed.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated patience, tact, and respect.
- Must attend and participate in all training necessary to maintain certification and improve job skills.
- Law Enforcement or Security Background preferred.
- Ability to read write clearly and informatively, comprehends documents pertaining to security policies & procedures, rules & regulations and operating instructions.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent problems.
- The ability to take direction and follow orders.
- Must possess a valid Driver License and be insurable.
- Able to obtain and retain a gaming license through the Tule River Tribe Gaming Commission.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, hear, stand, and sit.
- Repeatedly required to use hand to finger, reach with hands, arms and handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Occasionally required to and to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to perform in outdoor environments with frequent exposure to unpredictable weather conditions including heat, rain, cold and wind.
- This position may require the movements and strength to incapacitate or subdue other persons for the protection of safety of self and others.
- This job also may require the use of a vehicle, and an employee must be able to have those repetitive motions and coordination associated with operating a motor vehicle.
