What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Daytime Custodian position at Eagle Mountain City?
Pay is $14-15 per hour
9am-2 pm Monday-Friday
GENERAL PURPOSE
Performs a variety of working level unskilled and semi-skilled industrial housekeeping duties as needed to assure proper cleaning and routine maintenance of city facilities.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the close to general supervision of the Facilities Supervisor. May receive close supervision from Facilities Maintenance Technician on a project-by-project basis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs facility care and cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, floor stripping and refinishing, carpet cleaning, auto scrubbing, etc.; polishes fixtures.
Sweeps, buffs, dusts, strips, waxes, washes, and polishes hard surface floors; washes and cleans walls, door frames, doors, and glass; empties and cleans waste receptacles; cleans disinfects and sanitizes rest room sinks and bowls; washes windows; vacuums and shampoos carpets and entry rugs and mats.
Monitors custodial supplies and materials inventory; apprises supervisor of shortages; monitors facility mechanical operations and equipment to ensure proper functioning; apprises supervisor of need for repair or maintenance.
Operates various cleaning equipment such as power buffer, carpet extraction machine, etc.; mixes chemicals as needed to perform specialized cleaning functions.
Performs general facility security checks; checks door locks and other systems for proper "after hours" operation.
Performs miscellaneous weekend, seasonal or periodic duties.
Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school;
AND
- One (1) year of experience performing above duties;
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Some Knowledge of the practices of janitorial and minor maintenance of public buildings; janitorial procedures and techniques; cleaning chemicals and their interaction; operation and maintenance of janitorial power cleaning and polishing equipment; safe work principles and practices.

Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks and demands; working within deadlines to complete projects and assignments; establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers and other City employees.
Ability to handle multiple projects and daily activities while meeting time lines; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to read and understand Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) reports. Ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workloads. Must be able to work independently.
- Special Qualifications:
Must possess a valid Utah driver's license.
- Work Environment:
Workers in the position regularly work in both indoor and outside weather conditions. Tasks require variety of physical activities, generally involving some muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, and lifting (frequently move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move up to 75 pounds). Talking, hearing and seeing essential to the performance of the job. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity needed. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, discriminating thinking and creative problem solving. Frequent local travel required in normal course of job performance.
