Job Overview
Eagle Mountain Pet Care is currently seeking a full-time veterinary
technician to join our team. We are looking for applicants
who are self-motivated, comfortable talking with clients, eager to learn
and share our love of animals! We work hard to cultivate a
collaborative, innovative and compassionate culture among our team so we
can provide the highest standards of veterinary care. Our practice is
open M - F 8:00 AM - 5 PM. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and ensure the highest level of care for our animal patients. Your expertise in animal husbandry, handling, and care will be crucial in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for both animals and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and fecal exams.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
- Monitor animal health by observing behavior and physical condition.
- Provide proper restraint techniques for animals during examinations and procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and wellness.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
- Client Service and Education - Communicating clearly with clients via
phone and text, obtaining medical history, checking in patients,
discharging surgeries and scheduling appointments.
- Patient Care - Proper animal handling, blood draws, IV catheter
placement, taking radiographs, running lab work and diagnostics,
collecting patient history and assisting doctor with exam, care for
hospitalized patients, and monitoring vitals.
- Other Duties - Filling prescriptions, entering invoices, assisting with
inventory, collecting patients, ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and dental terminology.
- Proficiency in animal handling techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine.
- Experience in animal restraint methods to facilitate examinations and treatments.
- Background in animal husbandry practices to promote overall health.
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred but not mandatory.

Experienced in Veterinary Surgical Procedures
